Please review our studio policies and participant waiver below. Purchasing any pass or membership, or booking any class, workshop, retreat, or private session, means you accept the terms on this page. This is the controlling version of our waiver.
Yoga Class Etiquette
We respectfully ask that you arrive on time. The door is locked at the start of each experience so that the teacher may begin to facilitate the class. Late arrivals may not be accepted.
Quietly take a seat on your mat until the class begins.
Refrain from wearing heavy fragrances.
Turn your cell phone and smartwatches on silent and refrain from checking messages during class.
Stay home if you're feeling ill.
Booking, Cancellation & Refund Policy
Classes, workshops, and events are booked online in advance, and space may be limited.
You are responsible for removing yourself from any class you cannot attend. You may cancel your reservation up until 60 minutes before the class start time.
If you no-show to a class, no refund or credit will be issued.
Class passes, memberships, workshops, retreats, private sessions, and online digital downloads are non-refundable.
Participant Waiver, Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Consent Agreement
Please read carefully. This is a legal document. By purchasing a pass or membership or booking any service, you agree to these terms; you also sign this waiver at the studio or during booking.
I, the undersigned ("Participant"), in consideration of being permitted to participate in classes, workshops, retreats, private sessions, and other services offered by House of AUM, LLC ("House of AUM"), agree to the terms below. I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and accept each section.
1. Activities and Services Covered. This agreement applies to all services and activities offered by House of AUM, including but not limited to: yoga classes, fitness classes, tai chi, meditation, breathwork, sound baths, sound healing, Reiki and other energy work, workshops, retreats, private sessions, teacher trainings, astrology and tarot offerings, and similar movement, meditation, or wellness offerings, whether held at the studio, off-site, or online.
2. Voluntary Participation — Athletic and Physical Nature of Activities. I am voluntarily participating in the activities listed above. I understand and acknowledge that yoga, fitness, and the other movement-based activities offered by House of AUM are athletic and physical in nature and may be strenuous. This agreement covers my arrival at, participation in, and departure from the studio premises, common areas, and walkways, and any adjacent shared parking areas. I understand that participation may carry inherent risks including, but not limited to: muscle strain, sprains, fractures, falls, dizziness, fainting, joint or back injury, aggravation of pre-existing conditions, exposure to communicable or infectious disease, emotional or psychological distress, slips, trips, and falls in parking areas and walkways (including in any weather condition), and other physical or health-related complications. I knowingly and voluntarily assume all such risks, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen.
3. Health Representation and Personal Responsibility. I represent that I am physically and medically able to participate in the activities I have chosen. I understand that House of AUM and its instructors are not medical, mental health, or healthcare professionals, do not provide medical advice, and do not assess my fitness to participate. It is solely my responsibility to consult a qualified physician prior to participation regarding any health concern; to know my own physical limits; to follow instructor cues at my own discretion; to work within my own limits regardless of cues given; and to stop immediately and notify the instructor if I experience pain, dizziness, or discomfort. Any voluntary verbal communication of health information to an instructor is for the instructor's general awareness only and does not transfer responsibility for my safety to House of AUM.
4. Emergency Contact. For safety purposes, participants provide an emergency contact at the time of signing. This information is used only in the event of a medical or safety emergency at the studio.
5. Release of Liability (Including Ordinary Negligence). In consideration of being permitted to participate, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, and assigns, HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE House of AUM, LLC and its owners, members, managers, instructors, employees, independent contractors, agents, volunteers, the Robert F. Baldwin, Jr., Trust as landlord of the studio premises, and any successor owner or landlord of the studio premises and adjacent shared parking areas (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, illness, or injury, including death, that I may sustain in connection with my participation, INCLUDING CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASED PARTIES. I understand and agree that this release does not extend to claims arising from gross negligence or willful and wanton misconduct, which are not waivable under Ohio law.
6. Indemnification and Hold Harmless. I agree to INDEMNIFY, DEFEND, AND HOLD HARMLESS the Released Parties from any loss, liability, damage, or cost — including attorneys' fees — they may incur arising out of my participation, or arising from any claim brought by a member of my family, my heirs, or my estate related to my participation.
7. Astrology, Tarot, Energy Work, and Wellness Offerings. I understand that astrology, tarot, sound healing, sound baths, breathwork, Reiki, energy work, meditation, and similar spiritual or intuitive services offered by House of AUM are provided for personal insight, exploration, and entertainment purposes only. They are not a substitute for medical, psychological, financial, legal, or other professional advice. House of AUM is not responsible for how I interpret, rely on, or act upon information or experiences received during any such service.
8. Retail Products. I understand that any products sold or offered by House of AUM — including yoga mats, props, oils, herbal or apothecary items, and similar goods — are provided for personal use at my own risk. House of AUM's liability with respect to any product is limited to the manufacturer's warranty, if any. I am responsible for reading product labels, instructions, and warnings, and for consulting a qualified professional before using any wellness, herbal, or topical product.
9. Photo and Video Release. I understand House of AUM may take photographs or video of classes, workshops, and events for marketing, educational, or training purposes. I grant House of AUM the right to use such media, including images in which I may appear, in any format, without compensation, and release House of AUM from any claims related to such use. If I prefer not to appear in marketing media, I will notify House of AUM; House of AUM will make reasonable efforts to honor this preference but cannot guarantee exclusion from incidental, unstaged background imagery.
10. Personal Property and Vehicles. I understand House of AUM is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property brought onto the premises, nor for damage to or theft from vehicles parked in shared parking areas adjacent to the studio.
11. Minor Participants (Under 18). Participants under the age of 18 may not participate without a parent or legal guardian (a) signing this agreement on the minor's behalf and (b) being present at the studio — including in the lobby or waiting area — for the duration of the minor's participation. By signing on the minor's behalf, the parent or guardian acknowledges they have read this agreement, understand its terms, accept the risks described in Sections 2 and 3 on behalf of the minor, and agree to its provisions to the fullest extent permitted by Ohio law.
12. Age and Capacity. I represent that I am at least 18 years of age and of sound mind to enter into this agreement, OR that a parent or legal guardian is signing on my behalf as described in Section 11.
13. Term and Updates. This agreement remains in continuous effect for all activities at House of AUM from the date signed until I withdraw my consent in writing or House of AUM requests an updated waiver, whichever occurs first. House of AUM may request an updated waiver to ensure my information remains current; the original waiver remains in effect between any such updates. If I become aware of any material change in my health, fitness, or ability to participate safely, I will reassess my own participation, consult a qualified physician as appropriate, and modify or refrain from participation accordingly.
14. Governing Law, Venue, and Severability. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from this agreement shall be brought exclusively in the state courts of Greene County, Ohio, or in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. If any provision of this agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
15. Signature and Records. My signature on this agreement — whether handwritten in ink on paper, or applied electronically by typing, drawing (including with a stylus or finger on a touchscreen), or otherwise indicating consent in an electronic form — has the same legal force and effect in each form. I consent to the use of electronic records and electronic signatures in connection with this agreement, and I agree that any signed copy of this agreement, whether on paper, in scanned form, or stored electronically, is a true and enforceable original.
16. Acknowledgment. I HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, AND UNDERSTAND THAT I AM GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE FOR INJURY CAUSED BY THE ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE OF HOUSE OF AUM OR THE OTHER RELEASED PARTIES. I SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT INDUCEMENT.
